Endovascular AAA Repair
 Case Presentation:
Reid Hospital 4/11/2000

This is the pre-operative angiogram of an 84 year old female with a 5.5 centimeter diameter AAA. Note the large bulge in the Aorta near the "RIGHT" label on the x-ray. This is the aneurysm. The aneurysm is situated between the kidney arteries (seen coming out to the left and the right, just above the bulge in the Aorta,) and the split into the leg vessels (illiac arteries.)
This is the post-operative angiogram of the same patient. Note that the bulge is now completely gone because the aneurysm has been completely excluded. Flow into the illiac arteries now goes through the Guidant "Ancure" graft rather than through the aneurysm sac.

This patient now has one 2 inch long incision in the right groin, no left groin incision, and no abdominal incision. Her recovery has been excellent and without complication.
